1. General
By booking driving lessons with GOAT SOM, you (the Student) agree to these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions apply to all lessons, packages and services provided by us (the Instructor). These terms and conditions available from your Instructor and online at www.
2. Eligibility to Take Lessons
Prior to any first lesson commencing, the Student must produce to the Instructor satisfactory evidence of the following:
• a valid UK provisional or full driving licence (or an appropriate foreign licence);
• that the Student meets the minimum legal age of 17 for driving tuition;
• that the Student is able to read a number plate from a minimum of 20 metres away; and
• compliance with Clause 8 (Student Responsibilities) below.
3. Lesson Bookings
• Lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to the availability of the relevant driving instructor.
• Lesson duration is typically 90 minutes, unless otherwise agreed.
• The instructor reserves the right to refuse or discontinue lessons at any point at the Instructor's discretion, exercising reasonable judgement if safety is compromised.
4. Payment Terms
• Prices will be communicated to the Student ahead of the commencement of lessons, and may vary depending on lesson duration.
• Payment is required in advance or at the start of each lesson.
• Accepted payment methods are cash or bank transfer.
• Students may book and pay for a block of lessons, or on a lesson by lesson basis.
• Where a Student is block booking lessons, the block must be used within 12 months of purchase and are non-transferable.
5. Cancellations & Late Arrivals
• A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
• Lessons cancelled with insufficient notice will be charged in full.
• If the Student is late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
• If the Instructor is late, the lesson time will be extended or rescheduled accordingly.
6. Instructor Cancellations
• The Instructor reserves the right to cancel lessons due to illness, vehicle issues, weather conditions, or emergencies.
• In such cases, lessons will be rescheduled or refunded at no cost to the Student.
• Lessons may be terminated immediately at the absolute discretion of the Instructor if the Instructor believes that the Student is any of the following:
• appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
• behaves dangerously or abusively; and/or
• refuses to follow reasonable instructions.
In such cases, no refund for any lesson will be given.
7. Use of Instructor’s Vehicle
• The Instructor’s vehicle is fully insured for driving tuition and is fitted with dual controls.
• Use of the Instructor’s car for a driving test is subject to:
• Instructor approval;
• a pre-test assessment;
• payment of the applicable test-day fee; and
• the Instructor may refuse use of the vehicle if the Student is not test-ready.
• The Student will be responsible for and shall be liable to reimburse the Instructor for any losses incurred arising from any penalties arising during their test including but not limited to: speeding fines, misuse of bus lanes, box junctions, and traffic lights.
8. Student Responsibilities
The Student agrees, throughout the duration of all lessons and any test, to:
• wear appropriate footwear and clothing;
• inform the Instructor of any medical condition or disability reportable to the DVLA and/or that may affect driving, including but not limited to any eyesight conditions or deterioration;
• inform the Instructor of any changes to their driving licence;
• act responsibly and legally at all times; and
• Students must follow all instructions given by the Instructor.
9. Refund Policy
• Refunds are not available for completed lessons.
• Unused prepaid lessons may be refunded at the Instructor’s discretion.
10. Complaints
• Any concerns should be raised directly with the Instructor as soon as possible.
• Complaints will be handled fairly and professionally.
11. Data Protection & Privacy
• Personal information is collected in accordance with the GOAT SOM customer privacy policy.
12. Changes to Terms
• These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time at any time, any such updates will be notified to the Student.
• The latest version will apply to all future bookings.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
